Description | Waldorf have revealed a new polysynth at Musikmesse that is said to be an 8 voice digital and analog hybrid synthesizer that is said to be partly designed by Axel Hartmann. The engine features three oscillators that can use any of four different types of synthesis that include their Wavetable technology, Virtual Analog model, Particle that is granular sampling type, and the last is a Resonator Filter-bank synthesis model. The Quantum also features 2 analog filters, 6 envelopes, 6 LFOs, on-board arpeggiator, touch display control and built-in mutil-effects with up to 3 different effects per patch. The sound of the synthesizer offers a nice hybrid of analog type filter sounds that can be mixed or used on many crystalline sounding digital wavetable, VA and other digital textures such as ambient chords, plucks, and symphonic sounds. The editing panel not only features an enhanced touch scree, but also offers special led activated knobs that show the modulation routing and destinations to the available parameter knobs for easy sound control access. |
